All good things come to an end. We are two days away from the end of our Warwickshire Open Studios here at the Blue Door Gallery.
Coventry has been in the spotlight here in the UK for its City of Culture tenure. 2021 being a poignant year and it has made me a bit introspective.
I thought about my life here in Coventry, which will have spanned 21 years by August. So, to mark this, I made a wreath of flowers.

You can tell by now that flower arranging is a bit of a thing of mine (I am trying to get better at it). All the flowers are made from scratch, of course, with my various papers, some quilled, some hand-painted. If you’ve read my post on “Viola” you will spot the reprising of those tulip-shaped flowers (my current favourite).
Below are some detail shots. The piece measures 40 cm x 40 cm.

The piece of course is still on show in the gallery until Sunday, 4th July.
