This year, I made this star motif as a the basis for all my home-made cards for those special people in one’s life. The structure is simple. I’ve ‘overlayed’ 6 origami stars (4-mulleted ones) one on top of each other to form an 8-mullet star motif. The base layer is of origami paper (the Japanese block-print kind); followed on top by gold foil paper, then a small silver one to finish. Red, of course, for me is one of the colours of Chirstmas, so the card had to be RED.

I am a self-taught designer-maker based in the U.K. I am interested in the inherent beauty of textiles and paper. I describe myself as a peripatetic maker of things, given my number of skills in crafts. Having used paper and textiles longest, these tend to feature on my works quite heavily.
