Patterns

A closer look at the quilled patterns

A yellow offering to capture the fleeting sunshine… The white pattern was a spontaneous ‘quill’ with no planning or sketching beforehand. I thought I’d create a different kind of movement by making the quilled paper breathe and expand to where it “wants to go”. I like how this has turned out, with the little accidents of diagonals and verticals. The layered circular shapes on the sides are a revelation to me. In my eagerness to video the work, a bit of wool fibre was captured here (I do a lot of knitting). The work has since been cleaned and framed in black.
