Newborns

Just wanted to share these two cards with the same theme. I had been playing with distress oxide inks for some time now and they do produce these gradient effects and unpredictable colour mixes when water touches them again.

So I made these colour stories on 200 gsm watercolour paper and passed them through a die cutter called an alphabet maker from We R Memory keepers. I have to say this die struggles with thicker paper, but after a few tries it managed to do clean cuts.

I forget what die the “HELLO” was made with, as I don’t really habitually file my dies in an organised way (maybe I should). It’s a deep black regular cardstock that I’ve layered three times to produce a certain dimensionality. I then chose a two-colour bead configuration following the text contours. I thought it needed this as the last flourish to make the whole card come alive. And voila! Welcome to the world B.E.A.R. and Jasper!
