I made this first card as the first theme and varied it for another. I shall be posting the next one. I seem to be loving ovals at the moment. It is a naturally aesthetic shape – formal, symmetrical. But I couldn’t help putting asymmetry inside the oval. The background is scrapbooking paper. I thought it gave the piece a nice ‘floral echo’.

I am a self-taught designer-maker based in the U.K. I am interested in the inherent beauty of textiles and paper. I describe myself as a peripatetic maker of things, given my number of skills in crafts. Having used paper and textiles longest, these tend to feature on my works quite heavily.
